At least 17,000 Kyrgyz Citizens Plan to Work in the UK in 2025
According to the latest information, a significant number of citizens from Kyrgyzstan are planning to seek employment opportunities in the United Kingdom in 2025. This announcement was made by Ulan Dzhusupov, the Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of the Kyrgyz Republic to the UK, during a meeting of the Committee on International Affairs, Defense, Security, and Migration of the Parliament.
The trend of Kyrgyz citizens looking to work in the UK has been on the rise in recent years. In 2022, 4,500 individuals ventured to the UK for work, which increased to 7,500 in 2023, and soared to 10,000 in 2024. The appeal of comfortable working conditions in the UK has been a significant factor in attracting individuals to seek opportunities there.
Deputy Altynbek Kylychbaev has suggested that the number of quotas for labor migrants from the Kyrgyz Republic should be increased to accommodate at least 17,000 individuals. He emphasized the importance of providing more opportunities for citizens given the current situation in neighboring countries like Russia, where many individuals are also seeking new options for labor migration.
