3,100 Schoolchildren to Take Part in Study to Prepare for PISA Exam
PISA Testing Underway in Kyrgyzstan
PISA tools and procedures are currently being tested in Kyrgyzstan from September 16 to October 15. The Ministry of Education and Science’s press service has reported that 3,100 schoolchildren from selected schools will participate in the field study.
In 2025, 15-year-old schoolchildren from Kyrgyzstan will take part in the main stage of the international assessment of the quality of education, PISA.
Participation in PISA will allow for a comparison of the level of knowledge and skills of students in Kyrgyzstan with those of other countries. The results of PISA 2025 will assess the effectiveness of reforms and the direction of development of school education in the country. Analyzing the results will help improve the quality of education, according to the ministry.
Education Minister Dogdurkul Kendirbaeva has previously mentioned that the results of Kyrgyz schoolchildren’s participation in the international PISA study may not be very successful.
PISA (Programme for International Student Assessment) is an international program for assessing the educational achievements of students. Approximately 100 countries are expected to participate in the PISA study in 2025. Kyrgyzstan previously participated in PISA in 2006 and 2009, ranking last both times.
