
3,450 Pistol Bodies Seized in Afyonkarahisar

In a recent operation conducted in Afyonkarahisar, a total of 3,450 pistol bodies and 80,790 gun complementary parts were seized by authorities. The operation was carried out by the Afyonkarahisar Chief Public Prosecutor’s Office, Provincial Police Department KOM and Intelligence Branch Directorates, as well as the Konya Police Department, in a joint effort to combat illegal weapons manufacturing and smuggling.
According to Minister Yerlikaya, three suspects were apprehended during the operation. Two of the suspects have been arrested by the Afyonkarahisar Public Prosecutor’s Office on charges of “weapons and ammunition smuggling,” while the third suspect has been placed under judicial control.
Minister Yerlikaya emphasized that the authorities remain vigilant in their efforts to crack down on unlicensed weapons trafficking across the country. He stated, “In every corner of our country, our operations against unlicensed weapons trafficking operations continue.”
