3,500 Uzbek Women Marry Turkish Citizens in 2024
In 2024, a total of 3,509 Uzbek women tied the knot with Turkish men, ranking them second among foreign nationals marrying Turkish citizens, as reported by the Turkish Statistical Institute (TÜİK).
The top five nationalities of women who married Turkish men in 2024 were as follows:
– Syria: 3,519
– Uzbekistan: 3,509
– Morocco: 2,427
– Azerbaijan: 2,195
– Russia: 1,945
On the other hand, data on foreign men marrying Turkish women was also released by TÜİK. In the same year, Syrian nationals led the pack with 1,222 marriages to Turkish women, followed by Germans with 1,156 unions and Afghans with 338.
Interestingly, the Statistics Agency of Uzbekistan had previously disclosed that 10,842 Uzbek citizens relocated permanently abroad in 2024.
These figures highlight the growing trend of international marriages between Turkish citizens and foreign nationals, showcasing the diverse cultural landscape of the country and its openness to cross-cultural unions.
