Arkadag Smart City Wins Awards at World Expo in Korea
The Arkadag smart city has been recognized for its uniqueness and innovation at the World Expo in the Republic of Korea. On September 4, 2024, the city was honored with three prestigious awards at the World Smart City Expo 2024 held in Goyang City.
Among the awards presented at the event, the national and foreign cities, as well as companies, were acknowledged for their outstanding contributions in various industries. The smart city Arkadag stood out as the first participant of the expo to receive an award, marking a significant achievement.
The Turkmen side received three awards, including the Smart City Excellence Award, Foreign Smart City Award, and WSCE 2024 Contribution Award. During the award ceremony, the head of the Turkmen delegation, D. Orazov, expressed gratitude for the recognition and highlighted the high organizational level of the World Exhibition held by the Korean side.
D. Orazov commended the technologies and systems of smart cities showcased at the expo, emphasizing the advanced trends that meet modern standards. The success of the Arkadag smart city was attributed to the leadership of President Serdar Berdimuhamedov and the National Leader Gurbanguly Berdimuhamedov in the field of national urban development.
Apart from Arkadag, various regions and countries such as the People’s Republic of China, Japan, Malaysia, Thailand, Vietnam, Denmark, Finland, Israel, and others participated in the World Smart City Expo 2024. The exhibition featured 116 pavilions with representatives from over 60 countries, including ministers and governors, showcasing the latest innovations in smart city technology and urban development.
