ASCO Ferries Transport Nearly 6,000 Passengers in 1st Quarter 2025

Azerbaijan Caspian Shipping Company transports over 5,800 passengers in the first quarter of 2025

The Azerbaijan Caspian Shipping Company (ASCO) has reported that during the first quarter of 2025, a total of 5,882 passengers were transported on ferries operated by the company. This information comes as the world continues to navigate the ongoing challenges posed by the COVID-19 pandemic.

From January to March 2025, 4,456 passengers travelled on the Alat–Kuryk and Kuryk–Alat routes. Of these passengers, 2,559 travelled from Alat to Kuryk, while 1,897 travelled in the opposite direction. Additionally, 1,426 passengers were transported between the Alat–Turkmenbashi and Turkmenbashi–Alat ports. This included 908 passengers from Alat to Turkmenbashi and 518 passengers in the reverse direction.

It is important to note that due to the current quarantine regime in place, Azerbaijani citizens who wish to leave the country by ferry must obtain special permission from the Operational Headquarters under the Cabinet of Ministers. However, foreign nationals are not required to obtain this permission when departing Azerbaijan. Regardless of citizenship, all individuals must obtain the same permit to enter the country by ferry.

The transportation of over 5,800 passengers by the Azerbaijan Caspian Shipping Company highlights the continued importance of maritime transportation in the region, providing a vital link for both Azerbaijani citizens and foreign travelers. As the world gradually moves towards recovery from the pandemic, the safe and efficient transportation of passengers remains a top priority for the company.
