Auyl Restaurant in Almaty Named One of the 16 Most Beautiful Restaurants in the World
The Auyl restaurant, located in Almaty, Kazakhstan, has recently gained international recognition for its unique neo-nomad cuisine of Central Asia. Prix Versailles, a prestigious organization that celebrates architecture and design in restaurants, has included Auyl in its list of the 16 Most Beautiful Restaurants in the World.
Forbes, a renowned business magazine, released the annual UNESCO architecture awards list on July 12, which features the 16 nominated restaurants competing for three 2024 World Titles – Prix Versailles, Interior, and Exterior. The winners will be announced at UNESCO Headquarters in late November. Alongside Auyl, other notable restaurants in cities like Dubai, Paris, New York, and the Maldives are also in the running for the prestigious award.
Auyl stands out for its innovative concept, housed inside a monument that once served as a yurt residence for foreign dignitaries during the Soviet era. The restaurant project, situated in the Medeu mountain district, was a collaborative effort of architects, artists, artisans, designers, and creative producers. Chef Ruslan Zakirov, along with designers NAAW and Dunie Design, have transformed the space around an open kitchen into a visually stunning dining experience.
With its fusion of traditional nomadic cuisine and modern design, Auyl has captured the attention of the global culinary scene. The restaurant’s unique concept and stunning architecture have earned it a well-deserved spot among the world’s most beautiful dining establishments.
