Aydin Forest Fire Contained after Destroying 4.5 Hectares
The forest fire that broke out in the red pine and maquis area in Aydın’s Bozdoğan district has been successfully brought under control after 5 hours of intense air and land interventions by the firefighting teams. The fire, which started in the forest area in Dümen District around 15.30, prompted a swift response from the Regional Directorate of Forestry, the fire brigade, the Technical Affairs Directorate of Bozdoğan Municipality, and the gendarmerie teams upon notification by concerned citizens who saw smoke rising from the forest.
With the coordinated efforts of 6 planes, 4 helicopters, and 10 water tankers from the air and land, along with numerous personnel, the fire was contained by around 20.30. Unfortunately, the fire caused damage to 4.5 hectares of red pine and maquis area in the region. Currently, efforts to cool down the affected areas are ongoing.
