
Azerbaijani and Iranian Foreign Ministers Meet to Discuss Regional Issues

Azerbaijani Minister of Foreign Affairs Jeyhun Bayramov recently engaged in a telephone conversation with his Iranian counterpart Seyed Abbas Araghchi, discussing various issues related to Azerbaijani-Iranian bilateral and regional relations. The importance of political dialogue in the development of the existing relations between the two countries was emphasized by Minister Bayramov during the call.
Both ministers highlighted the significance of joint projects in the fields of energy, transport, and investment between Azerbaijan and Iran, noting that these projects are of strategic importance. Specifically, they acknowledged that transport corridors passing through Iran, as well as infrastructure projects connecting western parts of Azerbaijan with the Nakhchivan Autonomous Republic, present new opportunities for the region.
They also praised the role of the intergovernmental economic commission in enhancing trade and economic relations between Azerbaijan and Iran. Additionally, the two ministers exchanged views on other matters of mutual interest during the conversation.
