Minister of Public Works and Transport Erhan Arıklı signed a contract with the companies that won the tenders for the maintenance and repair of Yonca Junction-İskele Road, Yılmazköy-Çamlıbel Road and Ministries Road and for the purchase of 2 thousand 550 tons of asphalt to be distributed to municipalities.

According to the statement made by the Ministry, the contracts were signed by Arıklı and the directors of the relevant companies that won the tenders.

Minister of Public Works and Transport Arıklı, Salih Köroğlu Ltd., which won the tender for Yonca Junction-İskele Road, Yılmazköy-Çamlıbel Road and Ministries Road. He made a statement after the contract signed with Gökay Köroğlu, one of the directors.

Stating that the company will start the maintenance and repair of the Ministries Road as the first thing after the weekend, Arıklı expressed his belief that the road repair will be completed before the 90 calendar days.

Arıklı said, “Salih Köroğlu Ltd. won the tender opened by the Highways Department for Fota Road and completed the works before the time specified in the tender. Now, it has won the tenders for roads awaiting urgent maintenance and repair by being the company with the lowest bid. “I congratulate the company managers for this,” he said.

-2550 tons of asphalt for municipalities

Minister of Public Works and Transport Arıklı, Güney İnşaat Ltd., which won the tender for the purchase of 2550 tons of sub-plant asphalt to be distributed to municipalities across the country, especially Nicosia Turkish Municipality and Famagusta Municipality. He also signed a contract with its director Derya Dinçkuyucu.

Stating that the Highways Department has cooperated with local governments in many projects despite the lack of vehicles, equipment and personnel, Arıklı stated that they, as the government, decided to provide asphalt to municipalities so that the public can receive better service and travel on safer roads.

Erhan Arıklı emphasized that they will continue to work to ensure that citizens can travel more comfortably and safely on the roads.

A total of 3 thousand 380 tons of asphalt will be used for maintenance and repair works to be carried out in line with the contracts of the Ministry of Public Works and Transport with the companies that won the tenders.
