President Ersin Tatar issued a message on the occasion of the August 1 Social Resistance Day and the 67th anniversary of the TMT.

August 1, Social Resistance Day, 454th anniversary of the conquest of Cyprus, the national symbol of the Turkish Cypriot people’s resistance against Enosis celebrated the 67th anniversary of the establishment of the Turkish Resistance Organization and the 49th anniversary of the establishment of the Security Forces Command.

President Tatar said:

“The Turkish Cypriot, which has a glorious history of more than four and a half centuries on the island of Cyprus, carries the banner that the ancestors of the ancestors who realized that great conquest in 1571 with their courage and sacrifices proudly carry the banner to the new generations.

Our people, who have been irrigated with the blood of our tens of thousands of martyrs, and turned this unique geography into a homeland, are in peace and confidence under the lunar flag of the Turkish Republic of Northern Cyprus at the end of the struggle of existence exceeding a hundred years.

As the followers of an ancient tradition who knows to behave with justice without discriminating with race, religion and language under the Ottoman administration, those who consider us no on our man, those who think of the rights and law of our people, who think that they are more powerful, more determined and more hopeful to open the doors of our children.

The most important thing that the conquest taught us is not to give up, even under the most challenging conditions, devotedly, courage and fortitude to reach the target to reach the goal at the expense of our life to avoid.

The Turkish Cypriot people have shown this sacrifice with the courage engraved in history, even at the weakest moment against the EOKA gangs who wanted to turn our man into a Greek soil. The glorious Turkish strength organization established to protect the national existence of the Turkish Cypriots and to prevent the homeland from the disposal of the country is the follower of this sacred case.

The spirit of resistance created by those who struggled in all kinds of attacks and impossibilities of those who see the existence of our people as an unwanted guest has spread wave, and finally TMT has become one of the corner stones of our glorious history.

The Turkish Resistance Organization is located in the deepest of not only our Security Forces Command, where the hero Mujahideen laid the foundation of our hero Mujahideen, but also in many of our national unity and many movements in our political scene. Because it is national, original and the name of a sacred tradition that has made the flag of the existence of a people TMT.

TMT means our founding President Rauf Raif Denktaş. Dr. Burhan means Nalbantoğlu. But more importantly, the eternal resistance spirit of our people who are connected to the ancient and unbreakable vineyards with the homeland.

While congratulating our Day of Social Resistance on August 1, I commemorate all our martyrs who have sacrificed their lives for the sake of homeland and nation. I am grateful to our veterans. I offer my respect and love to all staff from the top commander of the Hero Security Forces Command.

I address my nation with an unforgettable string of Tevfik Fikret, the great poet of our Turkish, which is located in a bulletin published immediately after the establishment of our Turkish Resistance Organization:
