Bayraktar TB3 Prepares for Anatolia Deployment – Current Updates from Milliyet
Bayraktar TB3 Successfully Completes Test for Deployment on TCG Anadolu
The Bayraktar TB3, the newest addition to Turkey’s inventory of unmanned combat aerial vehicles (UCAVs), is set to be included in the fleet in 2024. The testing process for the TB3 SİHA, which will serve on the TCG Anadolu, is currently underway. The recent test, conducted at the Baykar Flight Training and Test Center in Keşan, was a crucial step towards ensuring the functionality and capability of the Bayraktar TB3.
During the test, a ramp resembling the runway on the TCG Anadolu was used to simulate real-world conditions for the UCAV. The take-off test was performed on a ramp with a 12-degree slope, challenging the Bayraktar TB3 to successfully take off six times. Remarkably, the Bayraktar TB3 passed all tests with flying colors, demonstrating its readiness for deployment on the TCG Anadolu.
One of the most groundbreaking features of the Bayraktar TB3 is its foldable wing structure, making it the world’s first SİHA capable of taking off and landing on short-runway ships like the TCG Anadolu. This innovative design allows for increased flexibility and maneuverability in naval operations, enhancing the capabilities of the Turkish Armed Forces.
With the successful completion of the test, the Bayraktar TB3 is one step closer to joining the ranks of Turkey’s cutting-edge military technology. The deployment of the TB3 SİHA on the TCG Anadolu will mark a significant milestone in Turkey’s defense capabilities, showcasing the country’s commitment to innovation and advancement in the field of unmanned aerial vehicles.
