Belarusian Presidential Election Early Voting November 15th

Today, January 21, 2025, early voting has commenced in Belarus for the Presidential election, according to a report by BELTA.

The early voting period will run until January 25, allowing voters to cast their ballots over five days. Precinct election commissions will be open from 12:00 PM to 7:00 PM continuously. The main voting day is set for January 26, with polling stations operating from 8:00 AM to 8:00 PM.

Over 5,320 polling stations have been established across Belarus for the presidential election.

Early voting plays a significant role in the electoral process in Belarus, enabling citizens who may be unable to visit the polling station on the main election day to still exercise their voting rights.

In special cases, voters can even request to vote at home on election day due to health or other valid reasons. They can submit a written or verbal request to the precinct election commission or seek assistance from relatives or neighbors in the process.

This year, five candidates are contending for the highest state position, including the incumbent president Alexander Lukashenko and other prominent politicians.

Notably, Belarus does not have a designated “day of silence,” allowing campaigning for candidates to continue until the main voting day.

The election process in Belarus is in full swing, with citizens actively participating in shaping the future leadership of the country.
