Boosting Electronic Communication Tech: 200 Million Lira Support

The Turkish government has launched a new initiative to encourage domestic production and reduce dependence on foreign technology in the transportation sector. The “Call Program for Supporting Communication Technologies Projects in the Transportation Sector” aims to strengthen the electronic communication infrastructure in all modes of transportation.
The support package covers the rail and road, maritime, and aviation sectors. A total of 200 million lira will be allocated to research and development projects in communication technologies. The call for proposals is made by the Transport, Maritime Affairs, and Communication Research Center Presidency, which is affiliated with the Ministry.
Projects selected for support will receive funding for up to 24 months, with a maximum amount of 15 million liras. The deadline for submitting proposals is August 18.
The support program covers a wide range of projects, including railway communication, train monitoring and control systems, smart signaling and railway traffic control transition systems, and intelligent resource management and monitoring systems for railway vehicles. It also includes projects related to maritime traffic communication systems, ship tracking and monitoring systems, emergency communication at sea, traffic signaling systems, smart traffic management systems, optimization projects in road transport, and smart cargo and passenger transport systems.
The General Directorate of Civil Aviation and the General Directorate of State Airports Administration will also support projects within their respective areas of responsibility.
Priority will be given to applications from regions affected by the recent earthquakes centered in Kahramanmaraş.
