National Unity Party Holds General Secretariat Election
The National Unity Party recently convened for its Party Assembly General Secretariat election with a specific agenda in mind. Oğuzhan Hasipoğlu, the sole candidate at the meeting, was re-elected as the secretary-general.
Following the meeting, Prime Minister Üstel addressed the press and confirmed the completion of the congress process on September 21 with the re-election of Oğuzhan Hasipoğlu as Secretary-General for the third time. Üstel also expressed his well wishes for Hasipoğlu in his continued role.
During the meeting, Prime Minister Üstel elaborated on the government’s plans for the upcoming period, discussing topics such as social insurance premium support, incentives, and a credit package tailored specifically for women.
Speaking further, Prime Minister Üstel emphasized the government’s commitment to ongoing social insurance premium support, with plans to reassess these measures once the economy reaches desired levels. Additionally, Üstel mentioned the impending talks in Geneva, which are scheduled to commence on Monday.
In anticipation of the Geneva meetings, Üstel highlighted the government’s intent to closely monitor proceedings and relay pertinent information back to the country. He reaffirmed the government’s stance on Cyprus, emphasizing the need for equal international status and sovereignty in any discussions.
Secretary-General Oguzhan Hasipoğlu, re-elected for the third consecutive term since 2021, expressed his dedication to serving the party in his role. Hasipoğlu also mentioned plans to represent the party internationally, particularly in upcoming talks in Geneva alongside the Prime Minister.
In closing, Hasipoğlu reaffirmed his commitment to advocating for the party’s principles and ensuring the recognition of Cyprus’s equal international status in all forthcoming discussions.
