Business Groups to Issue Warning Action on Monday – BRTK
Business organizations, including the Chamber of Commerce, are gearing up to protest against the withdrawal of goods from customs on Monday, October 28. This coordinated action at customs offices in Nicosia, Famagusta, and Kyrenia is intended as a strong message to the government.
In a statement issued by the Chamber of Commerce, concern was raised over the soaring prices that are posing a serious threat to both livelihoods and businesses. The statement highlighted the detrimental impact on the competitiveness of businesses and stressed the urgent need to escape the cycle of escalating costs.
Describing the upcoming protest as a warning action, the statement urged the authorities to heed their calls for measures to address the issue of high prices. Failure to take necessary steps to address the cost crisis could result in further escalated actions by the business community.
The statement concluded with a firm warning, stating, “This protest is just the beginning. If our concerns are not addressed and concrete steps are not taken to alleviate the burden of high prices, we will not hesitate to escalate our actions further.”
Businesses are standing united in their call for government intervention to tackle the issue of high prices and ensure a more sustainable economic environment for all stakeholders.
