Büyükkonuk Eco Day Celebration on October 13
The Traditional Büyükkonuk Eco Day event is set to take place on Sunday, October 13, in Büyükkonuk village square. The event will run from 10:30 in the morning until 18:30 in the evening under the theme “To Hade Büyükkonuk”. Attendees can look forward to a variety of activities, including a violin recital by Aytaç Çağın, performances by the Mehmetçik Büyükkonuk Municipality Folk Dance Team, Karpaz Girls show, Mehmetçik Culture and Solidarity Association, HASDER, FOGEM, as well as folk dance displays by Geçitkale-Serdarlı Municipality teams and concerts by Ferdi Usbahalı, Osman Özcömert, and Murat Çığ.
At a press conference held earlier today, Mehmetçik Büyükkonuk Mayor Fatma Çimen Tuğlu announced that the event will feature “Flavor Street” and “Cyprus Games Street” where visitors can enjoy hot meals, drinks, traditional Cypriot games, and more. Tuğlu highlighted that all food and drinks available at the event have been inspected by food engineers for quality and safety.
Tuğlu expressed gratitude to all those involved in organizing Eco Day, particularly the Büyükkonuk Eco Tourism Association, Municipality employees, regional headmen, and the local community. Louis Cemal, the President of the Büyükkonuk Eco Tourism Association, welcomed the public to participate in the event, which will include traditional food and beverage stands and entertaining activities.
Association member Kıymet Alibey shared that the event will showcase Cyprus foods with cultural significance and encouraged attendees to visit all the stands and involve their children in the festivities.
