Celebrating Victory Day in Istanbul on August 30
The August 30 Victory Day reception in Istanbul was a grand event attended by various dignitaries, officials, and representatives from foreign countries and minority communities. The program began with a congratulatory message from President Recep Tayyip Erdoğan, which was followed by a speech from Governor Gül.
Governor Gül started by paying tribute to Gazi Mustafa Kemal Atatürk, the Commander-in-Chief of the War of Independence, and all the members of the Gazi Assembly. He highlighted the historic significance of the day, mentioning how the Turkish Nation rose from the ashes to defend its homeland during the War of Independence.
Reflecting on the sacrifices made by the Turkish soldiers during the Great Offensive, Governor Gül emphasized the spirit of unity, faith, and sacrifice that has been a driving force behind the victories in Turkey’s history. He reiterated the nation’s commitment to protecting its independence and unity at all costs.
Governor Gül also spoke about the Republic’s strong desire for independence and the responsibility of carrying the legacy of martyrs and veterans to the future. He expressed his dedication to working towards building a powerful Turkey under the leadership of President Erdoğan.
As the program concluded, Governor Gül extended his gratitude to the founder of the Republic, Atatürk, and all the martyrs and veterans. The event ended with a live music concert, celebrating the 102nd anniversary of the Great Victory.
