Cerbona Completes €2.5M Capacity Expansion
Hungarian-owned Cerbona has recently completed a significant expansion at its base in Székesfehervár, Western Hungary. The company, known for its muesli, cereal, and granola bars, invested over HUF 1 billion (EUR 2.5 million) in the expansion, CEO Tamás Mészáros announced on Thursday.
The expansion includes the installation of a new production line, the fourth at the base, which will allow Cerbona to double its annual granola bar production to over 4,000 tonnes or 150 million bars. This increased capacity will also enable the company to expand its export market reach into Western Europe.
In addition to the recent expansion, Cerbona owner Attila Pókecz shared that the company had acquired the popular “Boci” chocolate brand from Nestlé. While this acquisition poses a new challenge for Cerbona, Pókecz believes it will add long-term value to the company’s portfolio.
Public records show that Cerbona had a net revenue of HUF 7.1 billion (EUR 17.7 million) in 2023, indicating a successful year for the company.
With these recent developments, Cerbona is poised for further growth and success in the market, both domestically and internationally. Stay tuned for more updates on Cerbona’s exciting journey in the food industry.
