
Cevdet Yılmaz meets with TRNC President Tatar – Breaking News

The President of the Turkish Republic of Northern Cyprus, Ersin Tatar, has shared his messages from Ankara ahead of the Cyprus meeting in Geneva. Tatar emphasized the independence of the Turkish Cypriot people in the Eastern Mediterranean and highlighted their historical ties with the Turkish people.
The upcoming Cyprus meeting in Geneva, to be hosted by the United Nations Secretary General, is scheduled for March 17-18. Turkey, Greece, and the UK, as guarantors, will attend the meeting along with representatives from the Turkish Cypriot and Greek Cypriot sides.
During his visit to Ankara, Tatar met with President Recep Tayyip Erdogan and Vice President Cevdet Yilmaz. Yilmaz stressed the importance of recognizing the sovereign equality and international status of the Turkish Cypriot people for a potential solution. He also called for the removal of unfair isolation policies imposed on the Turkish Cypriot side.
Speaking at a program before the talks, Tatar underlined the need for cooperation between the two states to achieve a new agreement for peace and trust in Cyprus. He highlighted that the 1974 operation played a crucial role in addressing the Cyprus issue.
