Kennedy Jr Claims CIA Involved in JFK Assassination
Kennedy Jr., a candidate for the 2024 presidential election, has stated his belief that the CIA was responsible for the assassination of his uncle, former US President John F. Kennedy in 1963. During a recent radio show, Kennedy Jr. claimed that “there is very strong evidence that the CIA was involved in the murder and the cover-up” and argued that this thesis was “beyond doubt”. He also hinted that the CIA may have been involved in the murder of his father, former US Attorney General Robert F. Kennedy.
Kennedy Jr. cited James Douglas’ book “JFK and the Unspeakable”, which includes documents on the murder. According to Kennedy Jr, his uncle’s murder was related to his refusal to send US troops to Vietnam. He also spoke about some of Joe Biden’s policies, criticizing the administration’s Ukraine war and border policies and claiming that Biden allowed “neo-conservative ideology” to dictate in foreign policy.
John F. Kennedy was assassinated on November 22, 1963, in Texas, where he went for election work. In the investigation conducted by the Supreme Court Chief Justice Earl Warren, it was concluded that Lee Harvey Oswald acted alone in carrying out the assassination. However, the investigation was criticized for alleged incompleteness, and a commission established in Congress later declared that the assassination could have been a conspiracy.
The National Archives and Records Administration (NARA) released a large number of non-confidential documents pertaining to the assassination, as required by the 1992 JFK law. Former US President Donald Trump also disclosed thousands of classified documents in 2017, while keeping some of them secret for national security reasons. The Joe Biden administration recently released a series of confidential documents in December 2021 regarding the assassination of 35th US President John F. Kennedy in 1963.
Many researchers argue that the published documents do not provide any new clues about the assassination and do not shed light on the still ambiguous issues. It is also alleged that the Central Intelligence Agency (CIA), Federal Bureau of Investigation (FBI), and other national security agencies prevented the publication of other documents related to the event despite the Congress decision.
