Citizens Complain About Foul Odor at Vacant Lot
A hazardous material discovery in Kayseri
A worrying incident occurred in the Kocasinan district of Kayseri, as sulfuric acid was found in a vacant lot following reports of a foul odor by citizens.
It all started when residents of the Cırgalan Neighborhood on Sivas Boulevard alerted the police about a strong and unpleasant smell coming from the vacant lot. In response, both police and AFAD teams were quickly dispatched to the scene to investigate. During their inspection, they identified a liquid substance as sulfuric acid, raising concerns about potential dangers.
The sulfuric acid was swiftly removed from the site by the teams and handed over to the Provincial Directorate of Environment and Urbanization for further examination and safe disposal.
This incident serves as a reminder of the importance of prompt reporting and response to potentially hazardous materials in our environment. The cooperation between citizens and authorities in this case helped prevent any potential harm to the community.
