
Co-founder of AK Party, Burhan Abiş, Passes Away

Burhan Abiş, a prominent member of the AK Party Kocaeli Provincial Consultation Board, has passed away at the age of 79. Abiş, who had been receiving treatment at Kocaeli City Hospital, leaves behind his wife and four children.
Condolences have poured in from various officials and public figures. Kocaeli Metropolitan Mayor Tahir Büyükakın expressed his sorrow on social media, highlighting Abiş’s close relationship with President Recep Tayyip Erdoğan. Parliament Speaker Numan Kurtulmuş also offered his condolences, recognizing Abiş’s significant contributions to the National Vision Movement and his local community as the former Mayor of Ulaşlı.
Burhan Abiş, born in 1946, served as the Mayor of Ulaşlı from 1986 to 1994. Known for his dedication to public service and his strong ties to President Erdoğan, Abiş leaves behind a legacy of service and leadership that has deeply impacted his community and the nation at large.
