Turkish Speaker of Parliament Condemns Attacks on Al-Aqsa Mosque
Numan Kurtulmuş, the Speaker of the Grand National Assembly of Turkey, has strongly condemned the recent attacks on Al-Aqsa Mosque. In a statement today, he emphasized that the seizure of properties by illegal settlers and the assault on sacred places can never be justified.
Kurtulmuş expressed his condemnation of all forms of attacks against civilians, stating, “Creating a hierarchy among civilians is a new form of racism and discrimination.” He emphasized the importance of respecting the sanctity of religious sites and called for an end to the violence.
The attacks on Al-Aqsa Mosque have sparked international outrage and concern. The mosque, located in the Old City of Jerusalem, is one of the most sacred sites in Islam. It has long been a focal point of tensions between Israelis and Palestinians.
The recent escalation of violence in the region has resulted in numerous injuries and casualties, including children. The international community has called for immediate de-escalation and a peaceful resolution to the conflict.
Turkey, as a Muslim-majority country, has been at the forefront of denouncing these attacks and advocating for the rights of Palestinians. Kurtulmuş’s strong condemnation highlights Turkey’s commitment to religious freedom and the protection of sacred places.
Turkish leaders have previously expressed their concern over the growing Israeli settlements in the occupied Palestinian territories. They have called for an end to the illegal settlement activities and the immediate restoration of peace negotiations.
The international community now looks to leaders and organizations to take decisive action and work together towards a peaceful resolution. It is hoped that through diplomatic efforts and dialogue, a lasting solution can be found that respects the rights and aspirations of both Israelis and Palestinians.
