Earth’s Close Encounter with Newly Discovered Asteroid Tomorrow

An airplane-sized asteroid will be passing by Earth at a distance of 354 thousand kilometers, and the event can be watched through a live broadcast by the Virtual Telescope Project. According to NASA, the asteroid will reach its closest point to Earth at 20:30 Turkey time, which is closer than the Earth’s average distance from the Moon.
Despite the close proximity of the asteroid, named 2024 BJ, there is no cause for concern as it poses no risks, as assured by the Virtual Telescope Project. The asteroid was first detected by astronomers on January 17.
This rare celestial event will provide a unique opportunity for space enthusiasts to witness the flyby of an asteroid at a closer distance than usual, without any potential danger to Earth.
