Egyptian Minister Meets with US Special Representative to Discuss Arab Plan
The Egyptian Ministry of Foreign Affairs has announced that Minister Abdulati held a meeting with Witkoff, the Special Representative of Trump and Eric Coordinator of the US National Security Council Eric Trager, in Doha, the capital of Qatar. This meeting took place within the framework of the Arab Foreign Ministers meeting.
During the meeting, both parties agreed to maintain consultation and coordination on the Arab plan, which serves as the basis for the reconstruction efforts in the Gaza Strip. Additionally, they agreed to continue communication as part of efforts to restore stability in the Middle East.
Minister Abdulati provided details about the Arab plan for Gaza’s reconstruction, which was approved during the Extraordinary Arab Union Summit held in Cairo on March 4th.
Witkoff commended Egypt’s efforts in ensuring peace and stability in the region.
The meeting in Doha also included foreign ministers from Egypt, Saudi Arabia, Qatar, Jordan, United Arab Emirates (UAE), as well as the Palestinian Liberation Organization (PLO) Executive Committee Secretary General Hüseyin Eş-ŞEYH and US President Donald Trump’s Middle East Special Representative, Witkoff.
The Arab plan, accepted during the Extraordinary Arab Union Summit, aims to reconstruct the Gaza Strip without displacing Palestinians. The plan’s estimated cost over 5 years is around $53 billion.
Witkoff has been engaged in negotiations in Doha since Tuesday, continuing the discussions on the Arab plan for Gaza’s reconstruction.
