“Eintracht Frankfurt Fires Coach Oliver Glasner in Latest Sports News Update”
Oliver Glasner to Leave Eintracht Frankfurt at the End of 2022-2023 Season
Oliver Glasner, Eintracht Frankfurt’s technical director, will be leaving the German club after the 2022-2023 season. According to a statement released by Eintracht Frankfurt, they had a contract with Glasner until 30 June 2024, but after intense discussions and analysis, they have decided to terminate the cooperation.
The statement explained that the development and general situation in the second half of the season were the main factors that influenced the club managers in making this decision. Currently, Eintracht Frankfurt is in 9th place with 43 points in the Bundesliga after the 31st week, having earned 12 out of 14 possible points in the second half of the season.
Glasner, who is 48 years old, joined Eintracht Frankfurt in 2021 and led the team to become the UEFA Europa League Champion in the 2021-2022 season. This gave the team a chance to participate in the UEFA Champions League for the first time. Unfortunately, Eintracht Frankfurt was eliminated by Napoli in the last 16 of the UEFA Champions League in the 2022-2023 season.
Despite the club’s success in the Europa League, the Bundesliga league position did not meet expectations, leading to the decision to terminate the cooperation between Glasner and Eintracht Frankfurt at the end of the upcoming season. It remains to be seen who will replace Glasner as the technical director of Eintracht Frankfurt after his departure.
