Elderly Man Injured in Home Fall During Istanbul Earthquake
An earthquake with a magnitude of 6.2 struck the Kemalpaşa neighborhood of Küçükçekmece, Sultanmurat Street, causing panic and damage in Istanbul and surrounding provinces. Muharrem Senyüz, who was sitting in the Sea of Silivri, felt the tremors and tried to escape, but unfortunately, he fell to the ground and hit his head on a wall, resulting in serious injuries.
Emergency services were quickly notified and Senyüz was rushed to the hospital in an ambulance for treatment. The earthquake was felt in neighboring cities as well, causing concern among residents.
Authorities from AFAD and Kandilli Institute issued statements acknowledging the series of earthquakes in the region, with the largest being the 6.2 magnitude tremor. Interior Minister Yerlikaya confirmed that all teams were conducting field surveys to assess the situation and no reports of casualties had been received.
The earthquake serves as a reminder of the ever-present threat of seismic activity in the region, urging residents to be prepared and stay safe during such natural disasters.
