EMU Medical School Holds 2024-2025 Opening and White Coat Ceremony – BRTK报道
The Eastern Mediterranean University (EMU) recently held its “Dr. Fazıl Küçük Faculty of Medicine 2024-2025 Academic Year Opening and White Coat Ceremony”. The event, which took place today, began with a musical concert and a presentation showcasing the university and the faculty of medicine.
During the ceremony, Faculty of Medicine Student Arda Özgöz spoke on behalf of the students, emphasizing that the white coat symbolizes a significant responsibility rather than just an outfit. Dr. Fazıl Küçük Faculty of Medicine Dean Assoc. Dr. Nilüfer Güzoğlu also added that the white coat signifies the integrity, honesty, and ethical values of the medical profession.
EMU Rector Prof. Dr. Hasan Kılıç highlighted the importance of good human relations in the medical profession and urged medical students to prioritize this aspect. Following the speeches, a white coat ceremony was conducted, with İlyas Çetin, Consul General of the Republic of Türkiye in Famagusta, participating in dressing the students in their white coats.
Additionally, the ceremony was attended by Faculty of Engineering Department of Electrical and Electronics Engineering Lecturer Prof. Dr. Hasan Demirel, who gave a lecture on “Artificial Intelligence in Medicine”. The event concluded after his informative presentation.
Overall, the ceremony was a momentous occasion for the medical students at EMU, marking the beginning of a new academic year filled with learning and growth in the field of medicine.
