Erdogan Engages in Consecutive Discussions for Champions League Diplomacy
President Recep Tayyip Erdoğan hosted a series of meetings at Atatürk Airport on the occasion of the UEFA Champions League final. His first meeting was with UEFA President Aleksander Ceferin where they discussed the successful organization of the tournament in Turkey. The meeting was held behind closed doors.
Later, President Erdogan met with FIFA President Gianni Infantino, who presented the Turkish president with a jersey and captain’s armband. Similar to his previous meeting, this one was also held at the State Guesthouse, and the press was not allowed to attend.
Lastly, President Erdogan met with President of the United Arab Emirates Sheikh Mohammed bin Zayed Al Nahyan, which lasted for an hour and was also closed to the press.
Despite the closed meetings, the photographs and news shared with the public show that President Erdogan was hosting international figures and engaging in important discussions during the UEFA Champions League final.
