European Commission Vice-President to Make Official Visit to Uzbekistan
Uzbekistan and EU discuss cooperation and future prospects
The head of the Department for Cooperation with European Countries and EU Institutions, Oybek Shakhavdinov, had a meeting with the head of the EU Delegation, Ambassador Charlotte Adrian, at the Uzbek Foreign Ministry. The meeting discussed the current state of the relationship between Uzbekistan and the European Union, and plans for further development in areas such as political, trade-economic, and cultural-humanitarian spheres.
Additionally, it was announced that Vice-President of the European Commission, Valdis Dombrovskis will visit Uzbekistan on May 17-19 to take part in the annual meeting of the Board of Directors of the European Bank for Reconstruction and Development (EBRD). Both parties emphasized the importance of continuing to organize joint events aimed at building and strengthening the relations between Uzbekistan and the European Union.
