Man Receives Aggravated Life Sentence for Fatally Shooting ex-Wife in Public
On December 12, 2022, a tragic incident unfolded in the Çankaya district involving Mehmet Eroğlu and his ex-wife, Pelin Ceylan. The encounter quickly escalated into a heated argument that ended in a shocking act of violence. Eroğlu, armed with a gun, shot Ceylan on the street in broad daylight. Even after she fell to the ground, he proceeded to fire another shot at her. Eroğlu then held his ex-wife at gunpoint, preventing anyone from approaching. Furthermore, it was mentioned that Ceylan had expressed a desire to live in İzmir but eventually returned to Ankara of her own accord.
