The iconic Hungaroring circuit in Hungary is currently undergoing a major transformation in preparation for the upcoming Hungarian Grand Prix in August. The redevelopment efforts have been in full swing, with a dedicated workforce of 620 individuals working tirelessly to upgrade the circuit.
According to a recent Facebook post by Hungaroring, significant progress has been made over the past six months. This includes the installation of 23,785 cubic metres of concrete and 7,604 tonnes of reinforcing steel. Large-scale earthworks around the paddock building have been completed, and construction of the third floor’s vertical structure is now underway.
The main grandstand is also making progress, with all precast reinforced concrete beams installed and nearly 50% of the grandstand elements in place. Additionally, 759 square metres of masonry structures have been built, and extensive electrical work has seen 22 kilometers of protective tubes and 80 kilometers of lining tubes laid, along with 20 kilometers of power cables. The circuit is on track to welcome the F1 family with its usual high standards.
With the ongoing construction efforts, the Hungaroring is set to impress both fans and drivers alike at the upcoming Hungarian Grand Prix. Stay tuned for more updates on this exciting transformation of the world-class racing circuit.
