Exploring Investment Opportunities in Turkmenistan for the Business Community of Turkey Orient
The Embassy of Turkmenistan in Türkiye organized a successful business forum on April 19, 2025, at the Union of Chambers of Commerce and Industry and Exchanges of Afyonkarahisar. The event, titled “Turkmenistan and Türkiye: modern directions of economic cooperation,” brought together over 100 heads of Turkish companies and non-governmental organizations.
During the forum, Ambassador M. Ishangulyev emphasized Turkmenistan’s commitment to fostering international partnerships based on mutual respect, equality, and trust. The country actively supports the development of the private sector and welcomes foreign investment, offering various incentives and favorable conditions for business operations. Additionally, Turkmenistan prioritizes the integration of environmentally friendly technologies across its economy.
The participants of the forum engaged in discussions on potential areas for Turkish investment in Turkmenistan, focusing on sectors such as oil and gas chemical industry, agro-industrial complex, transport and logistics, and telecommunications. A video showcasing Turkmenistan’s investment potential was also presented to the attendees.
In parallel with the business forum, Ambassador M. Ishangulyev held meetings with key figures in Afyonkarahisar. Discussions with local authorities and industrial zone leaders emphasized the importance of enhancing cooperation in trade, economics, culture, and education between Turkmenistan and Türkiye.
Furthermore, meetings with the directors of Kocatepe University and the Medical University of Afyonkarahisar highlighted the mutual interest in strengthening educational and cultural ties between the two countries.
The successful outcomes of the business forum and accompanying meetings underscore the growing prospects for Turkmen-Turkish collaboration across various sectors. The event served as a platform for fostering stronger economic, educational, and cultural relations between Turkmenistan and Türkiye, setting the stage for future cooperation and partnership.
