Fatalities identified in Girne Boğazköy traffic accident – BRTK
In a tragic incident that occurred in Boğazköy, Girne, it has been reported that 41-year-old Mehtap Kanal and 12-year-old Ecrin Başbınar lost their lives in a traffic accident.
According to the statement given by the Police Press Officer, Mehtap Kanal, a resident of Ağırdağ, lost control of the vehicle she was driving towards the north on Şehit Sonay Özdayı Street. Due to carelessness, the vehicle with plate number FH 800 veered off the road and collided with a tree. The impact caused the vehicle to flip onto its right side and hit another tree with its roof before coming to a stop on its side.
Tragically, both Mehtap Kanal and young passenger Ecrin Başbınar lost their lives at the scene of the accident. The investigation into the circumstances surrounding the incident is still ongoing.
