Fidesz MEPs Stand Against Double Standards on Ukrainian Grain Trade

The issue of Ukrainian grain dumping in Central Europe was at the center of a debate in the European Parliament on Wednesday. Hungarian representatives from the governing Fidesz party, Balázs Hidvéghi, and Enikő Győri, stressed that they condemn the double standards imposed on Central European member states and will not allow Hungarian farmers to pay the price of the war and Brussels’ misguided decisions. Győri Enikő pointed out that the Commission bears a huge responsibility for the fact that a large part of the grain destined for the hungry in Africa is stuck in countries on the eastern borders of the EU. Following the imposition of unilateral safeguard measures by four member states, Brussels has finally listened to the voice of Central European farmers. Balázs Hidvéghi said that it is unacceptable for the Commission to impose ill-prepared and ill-considered measures on member states that are constantly abused by profiteering speculators, causing serious damage to farmers in Central Europe.
