Floods Devastate Bolu-Abant Highway due to Heavy Rainfall
Heavy rainfall in Bolu has led to floods in the Abant Lake National Park area, causing dents on the Bolu-Abant highway. The downpour has been affecting the region for the past two days, resulting in an increase in the flow rate of the Abant Stream and the streams flowing into it. The floods also caused picnic areas in the Abant Lake National Park to fill up with water due to the rise in flow rate of the springs feeding into the lake.
Following the dents on the highway, the Highways and Special Provincial Administration teams have commenced repair works, and transportation on the road has been controlled after security measures were taken. The floods serve as a reminder of the importance of taking measures to prevent such natural disasters in the future. The relevant authorities should consider measures to mitigate the impact of such rainfall and ensure the safety of people living in the area.
