Kyrgyz Citizens in Florida Safe after Hurricane Milton
Bishkek – The Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Kyrgyzstan has confirmed that citizens of the Kyrgyz Republic, who are registered and residing in the state of Florida, were not listed as victims of the strong hurricane Milton, which struck on October 9, 2024.
The Foreign Ministry reported that at least 16 people lost their lives due to the hurricane, and 3 million residents were left without electricity. The disaster caused extensive damage, particularly in the eastern part of the state.
Approximately 100 Kyrgyz citizens are known to be living in Florida. The Embassy of the Kyrgyz Republic in the United States is actively maintaining communication with compatriots and local authorities to swiftly address any changes in the situation.
