Foreign National Detained in Kyrgyzstan for Attempted Murder

The State Committee for National Security of Kyrgyzstan (SCNS) has apprehended a foreign national who was a wanted fugitive. According to a statement released by the security service’s press center, the individual, identified as Sh.K., had been placed on an interstate wanted list by Russia’s Investigative Committee in January 2024.
Sh.K. is accused of being involved in an attempted murder orchestrated by a group of individuals. In a bid to evade legal consequences, he reportedly crossed into Kyrgyzstan illegally and was actively seeking to formalize his residency in the country.
Following his arrest, the suspect has been transferred to a detention facility where he will await further legal proceedings.
This incident highlights ongoing efforts by Kyrgyz authorities to cooperate in international law enforcement and ensure the safety of their communities.
