Police in Adana, Turkey have dismantled a criminal network responsible for changing the chassis numbers on stolen or confiscated cars and putting them on the market as scrap vehicles. After an operation led by police in Adana, Şanlıurfa, Mardin, Konya, Hatay and Mersin, 24 suspects, including the alleged ringleader, were detained and 71 cars with a market value of around TRY30m were seized. Six suspects were subsequently remanded in custody, one of whom was MA, while another 12 suspects were released on judicial control.
