Gendarmerie Officer and Girlfriend Found Dead on Beach
The bodies of Gendarmerie Petty Officer Senior Sergeant Ersin Tozan and his girlfriend Betül Avan were discovered lifeless on the beach in the Yeşilköy neighborhood of Hatay’s Dörtyol district. The tragic incident occurred after citizens on the beach heard gunshots and saw a woman lying on the ground, prompting them to report the situation to the 112 Emergency Call Center.
Upon receiving the report, Gendarmerie and medical teams rushed to the scene where they confirmed the deaths of Tozan and Avan. The bodies were then transported to the morgue of Dörtyol State Hospital after initial investigations were conducted at the site.
Authorities have launched a large-scale investigation into the incident to determine the circumstances surrounding the deaths of the couple. The community is left in shock and mourning over the loss of the young couple, and further details are expected to emerge as the investigation progresses.
