“Giresunspor Aims to Avoid Relegation in Süper Lig”
Giresunspor Looks to Secure League Survival with 16 Point Goal
Giresunspor’s club president, Nahid Ramazan Yamak, expressed his satisfaction with the crucial draw his team achieved against Fenerbahçe in the 33rd week of the Turkish football league. The team has now moved to 28 points, just 15 points shy of the 43 points they need to secure their place in the league. Yamak set a goal of 16 points from the six remaining games, which includes a match against Gaziantep and Hatay, before the end of the season.
Yamak also believes that his team will be able to earn the additional 9 points needed to stay in the league. He confidently states that “no one can stand before us,” highlighting the fierce competition at the bottom of the table. The club president also praised the work of coach İrfan Buz, who replaced Hakan Keleş after the team parted ways due to a lack of success.
Yamak is optimistic about the team’s chances to succeed with Buz, stating that “there is a clause in our agreement with him that he will continue next year.” He also added that the team plans to sit down with players whose contracts are expiring at the end of the month and reach an agreement with them.
Giresunspor is only two points above the relegation zone, so the team must continue to push for points in their remaining fixtures. If they achieve their goal of 16 points, the club will likely secure their place in the league for next season.
