The case of Gülistan, a student who has been missing for 5 years, has been reopened for a critical investigation. Gülistan Tissue, a 21-year-old student at Munzur University in Tunceli, disappeared on January 5, 2020, after leaving the dormitory and never being heard from again. Despite extensive search and rescue efforts, including the mobilization of 542 teams, drones, and vehicles, no trace of Gülistan was found.
The investigation has now shifted focus to Gülistan’s boyfriend, who was detained in Alanya two years later. Social media posts and evidence indicating that he may have been involved in Gülistan’s disappearance have raised suspicions. The car allegedly used to transport Gülistan was linked to him, further complicating the case.
The new Chief Prosecutor, Ebru Cansu, who was recently appointed to Tunceli, has taken charge of the case.
