Hamas Secures Prisoner Exchange with Israel’s Consent

Hamas Spokesman Expects Israel to Implement Ceasefire Agreement
Hamas spokesman Abdullatif al-Kanu has released a statement regarding the ongoing process of a prisoner exchange between Hamas and Israel. In his statement, Kanu emphasized the importance of mediators and the commitment to comply with the agreement that has been established.
According to Kanu, Hamas expects Israel to start implementing the humanitarian protocol, also known as the ceasefire agreement, based on the promises made by the mediators and the guarantees provided on this issue. He stressed that Hamas’s attitude and the efforts of the mediators are pushing Israel to adhere to the agreement.
Kanu also highlighted the second phase of the ceasefire agreement, stating that negotiations are ongoing for the release of the remaining prisoners. He added that the occupation state has no choice but to apply all conditions of the ceasefire agreement for the release of the rest of the prisoners.
Addressing Israeli Prime Minister Binyamin Netanyahu’s tactics to distract and escape from the agreement’s conditions, Kanu accused Netanyahu of trying to save himself and his government. He made it clear that Hamas will not allow the agreement to fail.
In the latest exchange, Hamas released a total of 369 Palestinian prisoners in exchange for the release of 3 Israeli male prisoners, including one in Gaza, one from the US-Israel, and one Russian-Israeli dual citizen. The released Palestinian prisoners were handed over to the Red Cross teams from Over Military Prison in the occupied West Bank and Ketziot Prison in the south of Israel.
The negotiations are ongoing, and both parties are urged to stick to the agreement for the successful implementation of the ceasefire protocol.
