Hasipoğlu condemns controversial statements – BRTK

The National Unity Party (UBP) of the Turkish Republic of Northern Cyprus (TRNC) has issued a strong condemnation against Turkish President Chief Advisor Oktay Saral and Prime Minister Unal Üsel for their recent statements. In a written statement, UBP Secretary General Oguzhan Hasipoglu described Saral’s statements as “unfortunate and transcending the limit,” emphasizing that they strongly condemn such remarks.

Hasipoglu highlighted the historical unity and shared destiny between the Turkish Cypriot people and Turkey, emphasizing that accusations directed at Prime Minister Üsel are not only disrespectful to his person but also to the will of the Turkish Cypriot people and Turkey as a whole. He criticized Saral for lacking sensitivity towards the deep-rooted ties between the two peoples and ignoring the decades-long struggle of the Turkish Cypriots in partnership with Turkey.

The UBP reaffirmed its commitment to standing against unjust accusations and maintaining the strong bond of brotherhood between Turkey and the TRNC. They emphasized that relations with the government of the Republic of Turkey, under the leadership of President Recep Tayyip Erdoğan, are based on mutual respect, trust, and a common will that cannot be shaken by irresponsible discourse.

The Turkish Cypriot people, under the leadership of Prime Minister Üsel, will continue to uphold the heartfelt bond with Turkey and stand against any attempts to question this relationship. The UBP sees it as their main responsibility to protect and uphold this spirit of unity and announced their stance with respect to the public.
