
Head of Diplomatic Missions from Ashgabat and Bishkek Hold Political Consultations in the Orient

Turkmenistan and Kyrgyzstan Strengthen Diplomatic Ties
Turkmenistan and Kyrgyzstan recently conducted political consultations at the level of diplomatic missions to discuss key issues of cooperation between the two countries. The meeting was led by Turkmen Foreign Minister Rashid Meredov and his Kyrgyz counterpart Jeenbek Kulubayev.
The agenda of the consultations covered various topics such as the analysis of existing interstate agreements, priority areas for cooperation, and plans for future collaboration. The diplomats also reviewed the schedule of upcoming meetings at different levels to further enhance bilateral relations.
During the discussions, both sides reaffirmed their commitment to working together within the framework of the International Year of Peace and Trust. They expressed readiness to support each other’s positions in international organizations such as the UN, OSCE, ECO, and in regional formats like “CA+”, while also exchanging views on important regional and global issues. The importance of inter-parliamentary relations was also highlighted during the talks.
In addition, the diplomats explored ways to strengthen trade and economic partnerships, increase mutual trade volume, and diversify economic ties for mutual benefit. They emphasized the need to enhance cooperation in the humanitarian sphere through cultural exchanges, educational dialogues, and sports events.
At the end of the meeting, Rashid Meredov and Jeenbek Kulubayev signed a Cooperation Program between the Ministries of Foreign Affairs of Turkmenistan and Kyrgyzstan for the period of 2025–2026, outlining the goals and strategies for deeper collaboration between the two nations.
The discussions between Turkmenistan and Kyrgyzstan signify a shared commitment to strengthening diplomatic ties and fostering cooperation in various fields for the benefit of both countries.
