High demand for skilled workers in Kyrgyzstan’s labor market
Demand for Skilled Workers in Kyrgyzstan Remains High
In a recent statement by the Minister of Labor, Social Security, and Migration of the Kyrgyz Republic, Ravshanbek Sabirov, it was highlighted that there is still a significant demand for skilled workers in the country’s labor market.
During a consultative meeting focused on analyzing the needs of the labor market in Kyrgyzstan, Minister Sabirov emphasized that employment and promotion of employment are key priorities in the state’s economic policy. President Sadyr Japarov has shown a keen interest in the development of the labor market, leading to specific instructions being issued to the Cabinet of Ministers to address this issue.
The development of the labor market plays a crucial role in stimulating economic activity, particularly when there is a demand for highly qualified specialists. Currently, the republic is facing challenges related to low labor productivity and insufficient diversification of the economy, especially in the regions.
The shortage of skilled personnel is most prominent in industries such as clothing, manufacturing, logistics, and the service sector. There is a high demand for professionals such as engineers, welders, excavator operators, fitters, mechanics, and architects in the construction sector. On the other hand, there seems to be an excess of economists, accountants, lawyers, and civil servants in certain regions.
The consultative meeting aimed to discuss recommendations for the development of the labor market in the republic, with a report set to be prepared based on the findings of the study. It is clear that addressing the skills gap and ensuring a well-balanced labor market will be critical for the sustained growth and development of Kyrgyzstan’s economy.
