Hungarian Students Compete in Dallas World Science Championships

Two students who won the 31st National Youth Science and Innovation Competition in Hungary, Anna Nóra Kovács and László Benedek Barna, will be representing the country at the World Youth Science Championship in Dallas starting from May 14. The competition will see more than 1,700 high school students from various countries compete for cash prizes totaling almost $9 million. Kovács is working on a project called “Rusty” to detect and monitor discarded waste using small robots optimized for image recognition and processing. Meanwhile, Benedek Barna’s project, UV Covbel, is a medical device for creating a label on proteins and the protein can be studied for a longer period.
