Hungary’s Impressive Real Estate Developments to be Highlighted in Cannes

Hungary is gearing up to showcase its industrial and logistics real estate developments at the prestigious MIPIM real estate development exhibition in Cannes from March 11-14. The Hungarian Investment Promotion Agency (HIPA) and the Real Estate Developers Roundtable (IFK) have announced their joint participation in the event.

The focus of Hungary’s representation at MIPIM will be on highlighting the economic attractiveness of the country’s rural towns and the expansion of the industrial-logistics sector. According to Ernő Takács, president of the IFK, there has been a growing trend in demand for industrial real estate since 2021, with last year showing significant development in this sector based on data from real estate consultancy CBRE.

Takács also emphasized the expected stronger economic growth in 2025, particularly in industrial production and manufacturing sectors. Foreign investments in Hungary, including projects from companies like BMW, CATL, and BYD, are set to further enhance the logistics and industrial real estate market.

Moreover, the residential property market in Hungary is showing positive signs, with a renewed interest from investors and developers. New directions in the real estate market such as the institutional rental market and hotel development are also emerging, driven by the strong performance of the tourism sector.

István Joó, CEO of HIPA, highlighted Hungary’s position as a safe investment destination, with a competitive tax system, skilled workforce, and favorable subsidy opportunities attracting investors from around the world. In 2024, Hungary saw working capital inflows exceeding 10 billion euros for the second consecutive year, with significant investments coming from countries like Germany, China, and the United States.

At MIPIM, Hungary will showcase the NIPÜF National Industrial Park Management and Development Company under the brand name INPARK, which has the largest portfolio of industrial development sites in the country. Key exhibitors at the Hungarian stand will include leading industrial property developers like Innovinia and HelloParks, as well as players in the residential real estate sector and real estate consultancy firms.

With a strong presence at MIPIM, Hungary aims to attract more foreign investments, promote its real estate developments, and strengthen its position as a key player in the global real estate market.
