Hungary’s Veszprém Castle district has been officially opened by Regional Development Minister Tibor Navracsics. The site holds great importance in the country’s history, serving as the home to Hungary’s first higher education establishment, as well as playing a vital role in the country’s Christian heritage. Archbishop of Veszprém, Gyorgy Udvardy, has stated that work on the district is ongoing, with 18 monuments set to be renovated between 2020 and 2025, supported by the government. The Work in Progress 2023 exhibition, showcasing the site’s spiritual heritage, was also unveiled during the opening ceremony.
